About the film
Actual Jokes: Seeing the Light and Amish Day Out, Produced by Terry J. Field Actual Jokes are a series of short comedy films each based on a popular joke. They were created for HBO and are played between movies to provide an entertaining dimension to the interstitial programming. Two of the films within this series are Seeing the Light and Amish Day Out. Amish Day Out: It's all new ground when an Amish family pays a visit to a shopping mall. Dad gets a surprise when he decides to use a modern convenience to satisfy a secret desire. [1.5 min.]

Filmmaker Bio - Terry Field
Terry J. Field is a writer/producer with a practical, hands-on style of filmmaking that comes from over 25 years experience working his way up the film ranks as a grip, gaffer, cinematographer, writer, director and producer. Field has filmed features, shorts, documentaries, and commercials throughout the United States, in South America and the Far East. Field produced the feature comedy Jane Street, and was a producer on HBO's Actual Jokes. He also co-wrote and co-produced the award-winning dramatic short Waste of Candy. His industrial and commercial clients have included IBM, ATand T, and Parke-Davis. Field has guest lectured at a variety of film institutions including NYU's Tisch School of the Arts and Boston University. In addition, Field is a real estate and video entrepreneur who owns the Capital Region's largest independent video store, Super Video, in Colonie, New York.


About Upstate Independents
Upstate Independents, a salon of the Association of Independent Video and Filmmakers, is a network of over 130 Capital Region independent filmmakers, screenwriters, actors, and media artists. Meetings are open to the public, and both amateurs and professionals are welcome. The group meets the first Tuesday of every month from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at The Arts Center of the Capital Region, located at 265 River Street in Troy, New York.
