You need a Quicktime player to view film clip Mike Camoin is an Albany-based filmmaker whose documentaries Inside the Blue Line and How to Make an Adirondack Packbasket focus on the diminishing Adirondack culture. Each program has aired on PBS-TV stations across the northeast and has reached wide audiences through independent self-distribution. A leader in the independent film movement, Camoin founded Upstate Independents, the Albany-AIVF Salon (1995) and was voted Best Local Filmmaker by Metroland (1999). His production company, Videos For Change, LLC was selected by Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute’s Incubator program located in Troy, NY where numerous projects are currently in development including dynamic use of streaming media. Camoin holds a Masters in Social Work from the State University of New York at Albany. About Upstate Independents Upstate Independents, a salon of the Association of Independent Video and Filmmakers, is a network of over 130 Capital Region independent filmmakers, screenwriters, actors, and media artists. Meetings are open to the public, and both amateurs and professionals are welcome. The group meets the first Tuesday of every month from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at The Arts Center of the Capital Region, located at 265 River Street in Troy, New York.
