Bands and solo artists are invited to perform their own material for a chance to win the grand prize of a performance slot in the Capital Area Indie Fest on The EGG's Swyer theater stage on October 6. You are invited to catch an early glimpse of the area's rising stars - and you get to vote for your favorite! Performers will be judged by music industry professionals, and the audience on originality, musicianship, performance, and stage presence. (Prizes will also be awarded to runners-up)

COLUMBIA ARTS TEAM (CAT), INC. is dedicated to showcasing new work by local performing artists and writers in the northern Hudson Valley region. CAT also provides educational and performing opportunities for young people and adults. CAT's programs are accessible and affordable to all, regardless of income, bringing people together and enriching their lives and communities through the performing arts.

HOW TO ENTER

Deadline Sept 25, only two performance slots still open

Format: You perform an original 10-minute set in front of the audience and judges (experienced music and entertainment professionals). Bands, focus on a primarily acoustic sound, please.

Voting: The audience gets to vote. Their input is worth 25% of the total. The more people you bring, the better you'll do in this category (assuming your friends like you).

To Enter: You (or your band) must be able to guarantee at least ten (10) fans in the audience. $50 entry fee is required, and then you can sell tickets to your 10 fans on your own. The more people you can bring, the better response your set will get. There will be refreshments and food available, and the venue is family-friendly (all ages...bring your kid brother!).
