JIM GAUDET & THE RAILROAD BOYS "NEW CD RELEASE SHOW"
Friday, Mar 1, 2013 - 8:00 pm, $15.00
Jim Gaudet is a singer/songwriter - but without all the microscopic self-examination and tedious political correctness. Mostly, he's a storyteller - and he does it extremely well. Whether singing about a baseball hero, a family feud, bank robbery, or murder, Jim's straightforward approach is remarkably refreshing.
lt is a basic philosophy of the Railroad Boys that participation leads to a deeper and more meaningful connection, to that end it's typical to hear the band's audiences enthusiastically whooping it up during songs like their signature "shout along" titled "So Far So Good." The RR Boy's closeness with their listeners is essential no matter where they perform. They consistently close the gap between performer and audience creating one big "down home" family who've been brought together by their shared musical experience.
Jim's creative original story songs are the cornerstone of the band. Their sound is steeped in the tradition of "Acoustic Americana Roots Music." They bring an original blend of hard-driving, up-tempo acoustic music from the roots of country, folk, bluegrass, and the mountains. All songs are fused with Gaudet's diverse contemporary songwriting and unique percussive rhythms that become the perfect springboard for his voice to follow. His melodies are downright infectious.
Gaudet has assembled a strong cast of characters in the Railroad Boys. Individually the Railroad Boys are Jim Gaudet on guitar and vocals, Bobby Ristau on bass and vocals, Sten Isachsen on mandolin, and Mat Kane on fiddle. They can be heard nationally on radio stations throughout the country.
