Filmmaker Bio
Almost 30 years ago, Harvey Edwards began to produce documentary films and set up his own production/distribution company in France. He started out making sports films, then went into educational films and in the past five years has produced fictional films. Many of Edward’s films have won prizes in film festivals in Europe and the United States. In 1982, he returned to the United States. Since then Edwards has produced, directed, and taken sound for about thirty documentary, fiction, and publicity films, which have been sold, rented, and leased to television, non-commercial markets (schools, colleges, libraries) and to stores, clubs, and individuals through distributors in the United States and abroad.

Upstate Independents, a salon of the Association of Independent Video and Filmmakers, is a network of over 130 Capital Region independent filmmakers, screenwriters, actors, and media artists. Meetings are open to the public, and both amateurs and professionals are welcome. The group meets the first Tuesday of every month from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at The Arts Center of the Capital Region, located at 265 River Street in Troy, New York.
